I had the opportunity to enjoy the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event at ServPro of Osceola County last night and it made me think about the importance of visual education in our marketing efforts. We have long since crossed into the digital marketing era to reach and attract new customers, but many times businesses forget that even the best sales pitch can fall flat if the prospective customer is not engaged. During the event last night, ServPro set up a couple of quick demonstrations of their restoration services for us to watch. A quick explanation and then they fired up real equipment and began drying a water soaked carpet. A simple and engaging visual that explained their services better than words ever could. The question is, how can you replicate this experience in digital times? A simple approach is add this type of demonstration to your website using a small article with detailed action photos or, better yet, add quick video that provides an audio explanation of what the visitor is viewing. Simply put, bring the demonstration right to the visitors screen to get them engaged and help them understand exactly what you do.
